About Dr. Scott Shelton, DPM
Dr. Scott Shelton was raised in Sandy, Utah and has grown up exposed to podiatry all his life. He did his undergraduate studies at the University of Utah and Southern Utah University. During this time he also served a two year LDS church mission in Sao Paulo Brazil, which he values as one of the best experiences of his life.
After finishing his undergraduate studies and marrying his beautiful wife he relocated to the San Francisco Bay area to attend podiatry school at the California School of Podiatric Medicine. He received his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree and during his time there he also received various scholarships for his high academic performance.
Upon graduating from podiatry school, Dr. Shelton went on to complete a three year podiatric medicine and surgical residency at the Intermountain Medical Center/DVA residency program. During his residency he was a part of a research proposal focused on surgical correction using an inter positional graft for people with Hallux Limitus/Rigidus. He has been extensively trained in all aspects of podiatry and has an in depth knowledge of the most cutting edge techniques and procedures for foot and ankle disorders. He believes evidence based medicine is very important. Additionally, Dr. Shelton is fluent in Portuguese and moderately fluent in Spanish.
Dr. Shelton is board certified in both podiatric surgery and podiatrice medicine by the Board of foot and ankle surgery as well as the board of podiatric medicine. He is also a current member of the American Podiatric Medical Association as well as the Utah Podiatric Medical Association.
Dr. Shelton loves spending time with his wife and six wonderful children when he is not working. He also enjoys playing sports, fishing, hiking, and going on vacations.
Dr. Shelton is a very caring, honest, loyal, reliable, hard working person who has a deeply vested interest in, and concern for, all of his patients.
