There are many people in the world who have bunions. The good thing is that it poses no risks, but the irritation and pain will cause a lot of discomforts and affect your day to day life.
The most common thing that people with bunions complain about is the pain and irritation. The pain stems from inflammation that occurs around the tissue of the toe joint, which are being stretched when the bones are shifting out of position. When the bunion rubs against the shoe, it cause further irritation and pain.
There are many ways you can deal with the condition, but the best way is by seeking medical care. Below are some tips you can use to reduce the pain.
Start with a soak
A cool foot soak goes a long way in helping relieve the pain and irritation. You can use a basin if you don’t have a foot spa at home. Pour a few tablespoons of Epsom salt or any other bath salts in a basin, fill the basin with lukewarm or cool water until the ankles are fully covered. Soak your legs for between five and fifteen minutes. The Epsom salt can be found in your local store, or anywhere first aid supplies are sold.
Stretch your toe
Doing some stretching exercises will go a long way in addressing the sore joints including the toes too. The first step is sitting comfortably, then use a strap to grasp your toe, you can use your hands if you are flexible. Pull the toe through a comfortable range of motion while holding it for thirty seconds. Repeat it several times. Stretch the toe away from the next toe while also holding for thirty seconds, continue repeating the process. If you big toe has a bunion, grab the big toe and stretch it away from the next toe. If the pain worsens, then you should discontinue.

Try new shoes
Change in size of the feet is not just for kids, it happens to adults as well. One’s feet can change throughout his/her life, both the length and the width.
